In the beginning, there was only God.
He is the Most High God, and He is completely good. Everything good comes from Him. He never changes. He is never anything less than perfect: kind, merciful, powerful, loving and gracious.
When He created the world, it was good, too.
But then evil entered the world through the disobedience of the first man and woman. Suddenly, the world was filled with death, sickness, hardship and suffering. This is the true story of how the world came to be how it is today.
There continues to be evil and suffering in the world all the way to today. We all can see this just by looking at the world around us. This creates a separation between us and the Most High God, since He is perfect. We need a way to be brought back to Him. Fortunately, He provides a solution.
Knowing we could not fix everything ourselves, God sent His own perfect Son, Jesus, to Earth.
He lived an absolutely perfect life, and then was sacrificed and brought back to life — in the same body as before — to prove that the Most High God has the ultimate power over everything, even death. Now He lives eternally with the Most High God in Heaven.
This sacrifice by the Most High God was provided to give us a way to be forgiven by Him for all the things we’ve done wrong. And we can’t do anything ourselves to earn this forgiveness besides accepting Jesus’ sacrifice and believing in Him. The Most High God is truly loving to offer this gracious gift to us that we can't earn ourselves.
Those who trust in Jesus' sacrifice on their behalf are counted fit to live eternally with the Most High God. They are not forced to return to earth in another life but will live forever with the One Who lived the perfect life for them.
If you want to accept Jesus’ sacrifice today, you can pray something like this:
“Most High God, I praise you for giving your Son, Jesus, as a sacrifice for me. I believe that Jesus died and rose again to defeat death. I ask for forgiveness for what I’ve done wrong. I want to spend eternity with you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
