The Nature of God

What do you know about God?

Here’s what we know: He loves you! And He wants you to know Him and have a good relationship with Him.

But here’s the problem…

We’ve all done, said or thought things that are wrong. This is called sin. Because God is perfect, our sins separate us from Him. In fact, our sins deserve the punishment of death.

But there’s good news!

God didn’t just leave us without hope. God promised a savior would come to rescue us from the punishment of our sins. His name was Jesus Christ. Have you heard of Him? The Savior from heaven is God Himself.

He took part in humanity and lived a perfect life, so that He could die the death we all deserve as a result of our sin. He did this so the price of our sin could be paid, and we could have a way to be restored to God the Father.

Jesus rose from the dead and now He lives in heaven with God, His Father. He offers us the gift of eternal life — of living forever with Him in heaven if we accept Him as our Lord and Savior.

And there’s more!

When you put your trust in Jesus and admit your disobedience, you are filled with the Holy Spirit, who is also God. And so God is three persons, but one being.

The Holy Spirit lives inside everyone who believes in Jesus as their savior. He guides and directs us to live like Jesus wants us to live, and makes us more like Him.

So in order to be made right with God, will you put your trust in the Savior from heaven, Jesus Christ, and be filled by the Holy Spirit today?

All you need to do to start is admit your sins and accept Jesus’ sacrifice for you and acknowledge that He was raised from the dead. Then you’ll be made right with God and receive the Holy Spirit. You can start now by talking to God directly through prayer. Pray something like this:

"God, I believe you sent your Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for my disobedience. Forgive me and give me new life, and fill me with your Spirit. I trust you and want to follow you. Amen."

Did you pray this prayer?
